I had the idea for Songs I Didn’t Write after reading an article about how people stop seeking out new music around the age of 30 and how our musical tastes get set in stone even earlier than that. I do think that having a declining interest in new music over time is natural—as we get older, we need music less and less as an emotional outlet—but the other part of the issue is that as we get older we have fewer quality sources to discover new music from.

My goal with Songs I Didn’t Write is to share with you a personal side of myself and to spread that feeling that music matters. I think you’ll at least find my recommendations interesting. Maybe it’ll reignite some of your passion for discovering music too.
